20 Degrees South is a small boutique hotel located close to Grand Baie in the north west of Mauritius. The privately owned and managed hotel is set in a small coconut grove, surrounded by private estates on the waterfront and makes an ideal base from which to explore the area and enjoy the bars, restaurants and clubs of the nearby town. This charming boutique hotel has an extremely laid back and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are quite minimilist in design but still very stylish and relaxing. Every room is unique and all the objects in it were chosen separately, down to the smallest detail, for an atmosphere that will delight those who enjoy warm, intimate lodgings.

Although the resort beach is small you can take advantage of the free snorkelling boat trips on offer to nearby islands. The resort has beautifully kept grounds and pool area for sunbathing, a lovely bar and lounge area to relax and sip those cocktails. The fun holiday village at Grand Baie is only 3 km away. This little town abounds with boutiques, an interesting crafts market, restaurants (Indian, Japanese, Creole, Chinese) and places for evening entertainment.

AUSTRAL SUITES
The 4 new Austral Suites are positioned just a few metres from the ocean’s edge with a beautiful view across the bay. A couple of the suites have a private pool (not heated) and the others have their own Jacuzzi on the terrace. Stunning interior décor has been provided by Flamant Home Interiors. Additional features include flat screen plasma TV complimentary WiFi access and espresso machines.

SUITES
The 2 roomy Suites are on the water, with a cosy living room corner. They both are equipped with an outdoor Jacuzzi, and bouquet of exotic flowers on arrival of and, (for minimum stay of 7 nights) one free bottle a famous French Champagne and one free massage of 30 minutes per person.

For families or groups of friends, the hotel has four Charm communicating rooms: one pair is made of 2 double rooms, the other pair made of one double and one triple.
Only one suite, one Beachfront and two Charm rooms offer one supplementary bed.

A child or teenager can stay in the parents' room or in a communicating room. Children less than 5 years old are not accepted in the hotel.

20° Sud has two lovely outdoor fresh water swimming pools (heated in winter) with a view of the sea. The hotel enjoys a small, private white sand beach with deck chairs and thatch kiosks. Swimming is excellent. Beach towels are supplied to clients.

The hotel is a perfect location for windsurfers and catamaran lovers: a huge bay sheltered from the waves with a continual light breeze all year long.

Hotel Children Information
To preserve the ambiance children less than 5 years old are not accepted at the hotel and from 1st November 2010 children under 12years old are not accepted.

20° Sud is also an excellent starting point to discover Mauritius. The “Jardin de Pamplemousses” and the Sugar Museum are just 15 min away by car, the huge Mont Croisy beach is only 5 min and Port Louis a 30 min drive. The hotel organizes different private excursions by boat or by car.

The hotel also offers a private plot of land on Flat island. A little paradise which will shelter an annexe of the restaurant … ideal for grilled lobsters under the sun !

The Governor’s House
Housed within an old ruin dating from the 19th century, now a listed building is a little restaurant the hotel have fitted out in the middle of nowhere: Just a few tables, a magical setting on a wild beach looking out to sea within lush and protected surroundings. Every effort is made to respect the natural environment, even your shower water is desalinated using solar energy.

Fresh fish, lobster and Australian meat kebabs are on the menu. The hotel's private Catamaran Lagoon 440 will take you to the island, a journey of 1.15 hours, and is also available for private hire for cruises around the island, drinks at sunset etc.....
